The Cardiff OLW network group usually meets once or twice a term at 4pm. We gather at a different school each time to give group members the chance to see how other schools use their outdoor areas. The meetings are a great opportunity to network and share ideas about Outdoor Learning and Forest School.
Over the last few years the Cardiff OLW network group have used the OLW small grant to fund various themed days in the woodlands. For example in 2012 the grant was used to fund a Woodland Olympic day where participating school did some mud pie and wellie throwing, a woodland assault course and a blindfold trail. Pictures of this day can be found in the gallery section.
Recently the group have used the large project grant to complete a Musical Symphony project. Children from nursery to year 6 collected sounds in the woodland and used them to create different parts of a symphony. This can be downloaded from You tube.
New members are welcome to attend Cardiff OLW Network Group meetings.
